Do’s

• Before starting your journey, all the visitors are advised to confirm their Air/ Ship tickets and accommodation reservation well in advance with your travel agent before proceeding to Andaman Islands to avoid any reservation problem.
• Foreign national should obtain the required permit form the immigration authorities soon after landing on the Island at Airport/ Harbour.
• Obtain permits from the Chief Wildlife Warden in case you are interested in taking photographs/videos/investigation inside a sanctuary or a Marine National Park.
• Visit the permitted area only.
• While driving, follow the traffic rules, keep left. Carry legal documents like driving license, permit, passports etc.
• Always carry legal documents like permit, passport for foreign national and valid Photo Identity Card for Indians.
• Consult Life Guards before entering sea and Swim in safe area only.
• Keep the beaches and the environment clean. Polybags have been banned in Island, kindly use Jute/Cotton and Paper Bags.
• Dispose off the garbage and plastics at proper places/dustbins.
• Observe decency and decorum in dress.
• Take back only photos and sweet memories; leave only footprints and ripples.
• Avail the service of Scuba Dive instructors having certification of international/professional organizations like PADI, CMAS, NUSI, BSAC and SSI for safe diving experience.
• Please follow the rules & policy while passing through Tribal areas.
• On the beach, parents are requested to keep an eye on your kids at all times.
• Please drink sufficient water to avoid dehydration.
• Please pick up your bags and bottle while leaving the visiting spot.

• Foreign Nationals should not enter the Islands without required valid permit.
• Do not enter in restricted/tribal areas.
• Do not take video, film or photographs inside Tribal Reserve Areas and of the indigenous tribes.
• Do not take pictures of the Airport, Government Dockyard, Defence establishments, Navel Wharf, Dhanikhari Dam and Chatham Saw Mill.
• Do not collect, destroy or touch/break live coral. Please do not stand on the coral reef while snorkeling/ Scuba Diving.
• Do not carry sea fans and seashells unless specific permits are obtained from the Forest Department.
• Do not throw garbage and plastic in public places, beaches and into the sea.
• Do not swim after consuming liquor.
• Do not swim in unsafe waters during monsoon.
• Do not light fire in Protected Areas as it not only destroys forests but also damages wildlife habitat.
• Do not stay on the beaches or forest during nights by putting up tents / hammocks.
• Nudity on beaches and public places is strictly forbidden.
• Do not enter in the National Parks without prior permission.
